The Analysis of Novella "The Strange Case of Dr.Jeckyll and Mr.Hyde

Have you ever read the novella titled The Strange case of Dr.Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde ? 
Yes , Actually this is the literary work by Robert Louis Stevenson publiced in 1886. Here , I provide the Anylises  of this literary work . 

Title                               :The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Plot                                :
1.      Exposition
One day , Mr. Utterson , the lawyer went to the Journey vacation on Sunday morning with Mr. Richard Enfield in London . They always did that journey vacation although they were so busy . They started the Journey and suddenly the passed the alley and saw strange house. Mr. Enfield remembered something that made him so fear. He told a story to Mr. Utterson about something happened a week ago about the strange man in the strange house that He looked at that time .The story was about the man and the girl. The girl bumped the man and fell down on the street , the man suddenly trampled the girl brutally and the girl got wound. Mr.Utterson felt pity on the girl and got confused about the man who known as Mr. Hyde based on Mr. Enfield Story. Mr.Utterson went back home and started thinking of  the name of the man . He had already known the name of Mr.Hyde in the mysterious letter that given to him by his closed friend named dr. Jekyll.
2.      Raising action
Two weeks later , Dr. Jekyll held a simple banquet in his house and he invited some friends including Mr.Utterson . The party was great with the wine in it. Mr.Utterson approached Dr.Jekyll and asked something about the mysterious letter from him that talked about the wealth of  Mr.Jekyll would be given to Mr.Hyde if Dr Jekyll died or dissapeared for along time. At that time Dr.Jekyll just told the story that too long and not at the point as if there are some secrets that had been kept by him . He told to Mr. Utterson that he promised to obviate Mr.Hyde. Mr.Utterson went home in a maze.
  
3.      Climax
One year later , London was in the uproar . Sir Davers Carew was killed by the strange man . The maid was the only one who saw the incident and she said that the strange man was Mr.Hyde .All of the people tried to look for where Mr.Hyde was gone.Meanwhile, Mr. Utterson was in the high curiousity and he was afraid that Dr.Jekyll , his closed friend, was also in the danger .
4.      Falling Action
Dr.Jekyll suddenly dissapeared and incancerated himself into his Laboratory in the strange house . Mr. Utterson tried to see him but he refused it . For the second time He visited Dr, Jekyll again . When he told about Mr. Hyde and his cruelty , Dr. Jekyll quibbled and told to Mr. Utterson that He did not meet Hyde at all . Mr. Utterson believed in him and tried not to talk about it more at that day and finally He went home . The Next day after Mr. Utterson went to the Dr. Jekyll’s House There was a news about the dead of  Dr. Hastie Lanyon . Mr. Utterson was shocked over the death of his closed friend. But Lanyon had already prepared something to be given to Mr. Utterson before he died.It was about the letter talked about the mysterious secret of Dr. Jekyll . He might open the letter if Dr. Jekyll had already died.
5.      Resolution
            At the end of the story, Poole, the butler of Dr. Jekyll, came to meet Mr. Utterson because he was worried about Dr.Jekyll. He said that he saw a strange man entering the house and he speculated that the man was Mr. Hyde. Both of them got worry about Dr Jekyll and then they tried to  rush to Dr. Jekyll’s residence. Over there, they found the truth which had been buried on the case of Mr. Hyde. Finally, Mr. Utterson got the letters containing personal recognition of Dr. Lanyon and Dr. Jekyll .And then Mr.Utterson realized the relationship between Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde that both of them are the same body but they had different characters.
Characters     :
1.      Dr. Henry Jekyll
He was the main character of the story. From the description of the story, Dr. Jekyll was a doctor and he liked to do social things to help the other. He had two personality, the positive one called as Dr.Jekyll but the negative one called as Mr.Hyde.He lost his identity which changed him to do a dangerous experiment that would change him forever. He made an experiment that made him to be a bad person at all. He lost control of himself when he was in Mr. Hyde .
2.      Mr. Gabriel John Utterson
He was a lawyer and loyal friend of Dr. Jekyll.He was described as the rarely smiled man, cold-hearted, clumsy, shy, and less sensitive. Nevertheles, he was so care with his friends especially with Dr. Jekyll.
3.      Poole
He was a butler of Dr. Jekyll.He was always asked help by Mr. Utterson when Mr. Utterson wanted to see Dr. Jekyll. He was a kind person who liked to help the other especially Mr. Utterson. He was also the honest person and tried to be the loyal butler of Dr. Jekyll.
4.      Hastie Lanyon
Based on the story, He was Mr. Utterson’s friend and also Dr. Jekyll’s friend. They became friends while they were still in University. Mr. Lanyon was a doctor ,the same job with Dr.Jekyll, but both of them had different perceptions and sometimes they didn’t want to meet each other. He died after he knew the truth that Dr. Jekyl had invented the dangerous thing which changed him into a bad person .
5.      Mr. Richard Enfield
He was Mr. Utterson’s cousin.He was the person who told to Mr. Utterson about the incident that involved the girl and the man (Mr.Hyde).
6.      Sir Davers Carew
            He was the man who had been killed by Mr.Hyde. He was the famous person in    London. His death caused the uproar of people in London.
Setting                        :
            The story took place in London when the winter came out. The road of the city was crowded at the day but quiet at the night.
Point of View             :
            The author used “Third person point of view” and it showed from the way the author introduce all characters by mentioning the name.
Theme                                    : Mystery
